A Celebration of Spanish-language Song
CANTAMOS showcases the diversity of classical music by bringing the fascinating and spirited music of Latin America and Europe to Upper Manhattan and exploring the rich cultural heritage of Washington Heights. Vocalists and instrumentalists come together to perform zarzuela selections from El barbero de Sevilla and Las Hijas del Zebedeo, songs from Argentina, El Salvador, and Puerto Rico, favorite boleros such as “Por Amor” and “Besame Mucho”, baroque opera with the Dorian Baroque Orchestra, and more.
Featuring Maria Brea, Linda Collazo, Jonathan Z. Harris, Heather Jones, Marisa Karchin, and Joyce Yin, with guest artist Sishel Claverie, pianist Bill Lewis, the Dorian Baroque Orchestra, and master of ceremonies Mario Arévalo.
